A Sunrise Inspired Motion System

We partnered with the creative powerhouse agency The Shipyard to bring their client’s new brand to life through motion. Our role was to translate the new identity into a polished HTML5 animation system that felt uplifting and intentional, while staying out of the way of the core creative.

The motion system was inspired by the feeling of a sunrise. Upward-moving supers create a sense of momentum, while a subtle, continuously moving background gradient gently lifts the frame. To avoid the animation feeling rigid or mechanical, we carefully sequenced each element using staggered CSS timing and easing, allowing assets to cascade naturally as they enter. This required close attention to layering, transforms, and spacing so the movement felt cohesive rather than segmented.
